Last week Jeff and I spent a few days in Pigeon Forge. His parents' have a time share there, and are gracious to let us use points occasionally. We decided to take a vacation before the end of August...this might very well be our last vacation just the two of us for a while. Jeff's mom and dad did the first half of the week and we got the last. So we arrived to find lots of clothes for Ada from the stores up there. Of course we had to get some too. We mostly just took time to have fun...walked in Gatlinburg, played putt-putt, went to the Titanic museum. Saturday was sort of rainy, so we took in a show (The Miracle), and hit the Aquarium. Sunday as we were leaving town we decided to take a side trip to Cades Coves, since neither of us had been there in several years, and quite possibly this would give us an excuse to bring out the cameras. My dad loves Cades Cove...Jeff's dad loves Cades Cove...Us...we are not such huge fans. Mostly because it takes what seems like forever to get there, and being hungry and miles and miles away from a meal is not conducive for a good time for either of us. We hit a couple of the churches, and we made the slow curvy trip back to civilization and restaurants. Speaking of restaurants, I have to put a plug in for Posana in Asheville. David and Rachel (the wonderful couple from the last post) told us about this place...gluten free and yummy! It's not easy to find.
Here's take 1.
And take 2.
So here's some shots from the trip:

Sea horse

Love the Jelly fish...perhaps it's just the great color contrast of the orange and the blue that I really dig.

It was at night when we visited, but all the penguins looked sleepy.

I believe this was the Primitive Baptist Church

Taking pictures of the graves made me think of Savannah

the Methodist Church

Last picture before we decided food was more important than a picture at the main Cades Cove stop
