Elephantshoe revisited-the door
This is one of Jeff's. It might be his favorite. If you haven't figured it out yet, Jeff is a technical guy. He likes precision and perfection in his projects. This carries into photography a lot. Ansel Adams Jeff is not, but Mr. Adams was perfect with the technical part of photography...of course this was back in film days when the photographer's mistakes couldn't be "fixed" as easily as today (though, we still strive for as perfect as we can get it straight out of the camera). He was the "expose for shadows develop for highlights", "zone system" guru. White was white, black was black, and every gray in between was clear. Jeff loves that stuff. Except when he's my second shooter, Jeff uses his old medium format Hasselblad film camera. He would love to have a dark room to make sure every image developed would be perfect. On top of the exposure...where the detail can be seen with all the shades of gray, and the white and black....there's the composition. The rule of thirds is a big thing in design. The way an image is more visually appealing when the subject is not in the middle of the frame. This hits it pretty much on the mark.
