Project 52

When I started this blog my goal was to take a new photo everyday.  For a while I did, then the posts grew more seldom, which so often happens with blogs.  Then I picked it back up again, started sharing not only photos from my everyday existence, but some from those portraits and weddings I have the privilege to be a part of.  Still, there aren't blog posts everyday, but often enough, I hope.
One reason that I wanted to take a photo everyday was to be able to have some creativity each day.  Also the reason Jeff and I started 'photo day' (which we haven't done in a while).

I stumbled upon the MCP blog (not really, it's a photo blog I regularly visit).  The challenge/project is to take a photo every week.  Each Saturday a few of the week's entries are featured, and the theme for the next week is given.  It's a way to get inspired, be creative, and have a little fun too.  So why not....I signed up.  Here's some fun news...you don't have to be a photographer to do this project.  All you have to do is on the MCP blog (linked above).

So I missed the first two weeks, and decided to make those up here on the blog.  These were done quite quickly without a ton of thought (which is straying from the purpose a bit, but sometimes it's good to be able to think quick as a photographer).

The first week's theme was 'around the house.'  I took a photo of something that is an invaluable object these days.  It provides a quick cup of caffeinated joe in the morning as a little wake me up, and many othere delicious hot beverages throughout the day.  During last week's days of being snowed in, it worked it's tail off.  I give you the Keurig:

Week two's theme was 'illustrate a song.'  Whew...this could've been a thinker.  I mean so many wonderful songs.  If I would've joined in this project sooner, I'm sure there would've been more thought and artistic consideration put into this...but I thought of this one this morning.
"Jumping Jack Flash"

I've already done the one for this week, and I've submitted it to the MCP Project 52 flickr group.  I'll be posting it either this evening or tomorrow.  The theme, by the way, is 'shade of gray.'
