Project 52--the past few & Christmas trees
First off...exciting news....the website is just waiting for me to hit the launch button. I'm going to look over it a few more times, then off it'll go. I'll announce it on my blog of course.
I love Christmas! It's just such a fun, warm, loving, celebratory, awesome, yummy time. I love, love, love Christmas decorations. I hate taking them down....it's so depressing. I have a rule that the Christmas tree must stay up until after my birthday (January 4th). One year I went on a mission trip the day after Christmas, when I got back my parents had taken down the tree. Dude, I was so mad. When I had the studio in CF, I had the fancy picture tree and a tree in the living room. When Jeff and I got married we started looking at the combined stuff we had. The first year (in a smaller house) we used the fancy picture tree for the main tree, and got a mini tree to put all Jeff's Coca-Cola ornaments on, which we had in the office. When we moved here the first year we had those two trees, and inherited a tree from Jeff's parents....they hadn't put it up in a while. We call it Mutti's tree (Jeff's grandma). It has lots of wooden ornaments, some she brought over from Germany. Last year we decided to get Jeff's old tree down too, and dub in the family tree. You know, the one with mis-matched ornaments, and things that Ada will make over the years. This year Ada is using the mini tree as her own, and we got a bigger tree for the Coke tree. So if you are keeping track that's five Christmas trees in our house.....with a 15 month old running around. We didn't know how Ada would react to the trees. The fancy tree has it's home in the playroom, which is supposed to be the dining room. We did gate that one off. She's done quite well though. She's pulled one ornament off, but mostly just goes up to the tree and waves...Hello Christmas tree! That's what Jeff's mom taught her to do at her house, and it works nicely.
On to Project 52. Late of course, though I do have one for this week. Most of the last few have been Christmas themed....so you'll get those, and some of the trees decking our halls.
